Please complete your training ONLY when you are ready to generate samples. Experience teaches us that getting trained too far in advance will just result in having to repeat the training.
Most prospective users should start by getting trained on the automated Bruker instruments. If you have a specific research needs that cannot be met under automation, please contact facility staff to discuss how to proceed.
Bruker Training
This training is intended to prepare you for using the sample-changer equipped Bruker spectrometers in the Cornell NMR facility. It is very important that you read these documents carefully and that you thoroughly understand their contents. We estimate that it will take you one to two hours to go through all training materials. If you have any questions, or need help or clarifications, please do not hesitate to contact the facility staff.

If you want to go over any of the training materials or procedures in person, please contact us or stop by the facility.
When you feel comfortable in your understanding of the material you may take the certification quiz. Take this quiz seriously! If you don’t know the answer, don’t guess; go back to the documents and find the answer. If you get a less than perfect score, look up the answers to the questions you got wrong and try again. If you have questions, ask us. Retake the quiz until you get at least a 30/31.
Please note: Getting a score below 25/31 on your first try and/or trying more than 3 times before getting a passing score will indicate to us that you did NOT take the quiz seriously and may result in a significant delay in gaining access to the NMR facility.
When you are ready, take the quiz.
Once you pass your quiz, we will create your account for you. This is not an automated process, so please allow a few business days before expecting a confirmation email. The email will contain the final steps required to complete the certification process so please read it carefully. If you don’t complete the process within a week of receiving the confirmation email, you will have to take the quiz again.
